Our Commitment to Safety
At Camp Australia, children’s safety is our number one priority. We’re committed to providing a secure, inclusive, and supportive environment where every child feels safe, cared for, and free to explore.
We take a proactive and layered approach to safety, underpinned by rigorous training, smart technology, and a culture of vigilance.
From digital systems to human care, we lead the industry in how we protect and support children. With clear protocols, constant training, and transparent communication with families, we’re proud to create a space where children thrive, safely.

V-SHAPE Active Supervision
At Camp Australia, we use VSHAPE, our six key steps to active supervision: Vision, Scanning, Head Counts, Anticipate, Positioning and Engagement.
This approach helps our OSHC educators create safe, well-organised environments by setting up clear zones that support visibility, meaningful interaction, and engaging activities for all children.
Emotional and Social Support
Safety also means emotional wellbeing. Our dedicated Child & Wellbeing Officers support educators in responding to children’s social, emotional, and behavioural needs, ensuring every child feels included, valued, and supported.
Risk Assessment
We assess and manage risks for each unique site using our Risk Assessment Guide and ACECQA tools, with reviews and updates carried out every term to keep environments safe and secure.
Caring for children with additional requirements
Camp Australia ensures Prep students are safely collected and delivered between school and Your OSHC all year. A structured plan supports their smooth transition, helping them feel secure. Prep children may also wear vests for easy identification and safety.
1.
Safe and Smooth Pick-Up Transition
Each service has a dedicated collection point for all children at the end of they day and this may include collecton from class. Our team escorts them safely and ensures they are signed in each day.
2.
Gentle Familiarisation
Before their first day, Prep children can attend introductory sessions to get to know the space and staff. We also pair them with older buddies to help them settle in.
3.
A Calm and Predictable Routine
Our daily schedule is structured with clear transitions, and we provide a quiet rest area where Prep children can take a break when they need it.
4.
Personalised Care and Communication
Educators keep a close eye on each child’s emotional wellbeing and regularly update parents so you feel connected and informed.
5.
Visual and Verbal Guidance
We use visual aids and cues to help children understand the flow of the day (like when it’s time for snack or play), and we use positive reinforcement to build their confidence.
6.
Play That Meets Their Needs
We have activities that are designed specifically for younger children, including sensory and creative play. Each child can join in at their own pace as they adjust to school and OSHC life.
Support teams for OSHC Educators
We surround every educator with a dedicated team of specialists, from learning and development, to wellbeing, compliance, and operations, so they can focus on what matters most: creating safe, engaging, and enriching experiences for children every day.
This behind the scenes support ensures each OSHC service is well-resourced, compliant, and continuously improving, leading to better outcomes for children and school communities.
